Do I Detect A Hint Of Pigeon?

Well it’s been a while since our last blog post and a lot has happened… it seems to have flown by.

Firstly would like to officially welcome Jack Bayliss to Purple Stereo. Jack did an awesome job filling in at late notice for the gig at the Robin 2 in January and since then has joined full time!

Now Jack is up to speed we have some gigs pencilled in for the rest of the year as well as some new material which hopefully will get released later in the year.

The most exciting news is that Purple Stereo will be at this years Warton Music Festival alongside a host of great bands including The Pigeon Detectives. The rumours so far are that Purple Stereo will be in attendance all weekend in a ten man tent! Just rumours at this time of course! Warton Music Festival is July 20th to 22nd, at Bentley Farm, Tamworth. We can’t confirm which day we will be playing at this time but as soon as we know you’ll know! Tickets are available from the official website more bands are still to be confirmed.

Our next outing sees us return to the Actress and Bishop in Birmingham courtesy of the legendary Catapult Club, gracing the stage on March 24th.

More shows are in the pipeline so keep a look out for those popping up via Facebook and Twitter and our Official site.

We will see you at the Actress!!

Jon, Paul, Alex, Matt and Jack

Happy Jack

We at Purple Stereo would like to thank all of you who got in touch reference our need for a drummer. We were genuinely surprised to see the quality of some of the er… applicants so a genuine thanks from us all.

We think its time now, after a fantastic gig last night, to announce the vacancy is now “filled” and we’d like you all to join us in welcoming Jack Bay on board!

We are all very excited about exploring some new directions in 2018 and look forward to seeing you all at a gig very soon!!!

A New Beginning

We are unfortunately having to announce that Neil ‘Crasher’ Worsfold has decided to leave Purple Stereo.  It’s not the result of a fall out but Neil has come to the decision that he can no longer commit fully to the band.  We are of course sad to see him go and wish him well.

Moving forward we are still finishing off the singles we have been working on at Shabbey Road and will be releasing those as planned.

We are now on the search for a drummer so please share or apply within.

Keep it Purple

Warm The Kettle Up Al!

Its blog time again! Just a short update…

The new songs are nearly all recorded now and just the finishing touches adding.  Its been a longer process than we planned for but we are hoping that it will prove worth the wait!  There has been plenty for tea and caramel lattes involved and the occasional beer…. We are quite civilised at Shabbey Road, it wont be long before someone brings a coffee table and a biscuit tin.  The outcome of all the time in Shabbey Road will result in us releasing 9 tracks across 3 single releases.  Still undecided as to whether it will turn into an album as yet, I’m sure it will.  A few of the tracks we have had for and while and for those who have seen us live recently they will recognise.

In other news…. The Purple Stereo Darts Championship has entered its second season with a chance for Neil to redeem himself after his woeful showing first time around.

Anyway more updates coming soon!!

Keep it Purple!

Got any Merch!?

Right time for the standard post gig blog that I enjoy writing, but does anyone read I wonder!?

First of all massive thanks to Mark and Percy’s for having us back and for another great night! Percy’s is fast becoming out favourite gig. The staff are brilliant and everyone who comes along to watch is always having a great time and always asks us for more which we came prepared for this time….we’ll sort of.

It was a pleasure to meet and play alongside Scream Of Sirens(pet) those girls rocked it! Hopefully we will get to play alongside them again. So a great night all round and hopefully we can get back to Percy’s soon.

A few things to let you know all know about is 1… the official website address has now changed to after a horrendous experience with our account at moonfriut who I don’t mind name dropping to say how poor the service provided actually was!

Also we are back at Shabbey Road tonight to put the finishing touches to a set of 3 singles we have lined up for release in the near future…. dates to follow.

And finally we are well into the darts tournament with a few minor upset but favourite Fletch proving hard to beat, other conclusions are that non darter Jon is better than Neil “the badger” Worsfold!!

Keep It Purple !!

Out Of The Black & Into The Red…

It’s been a while since our last blog, but we have been busy at shabbey road getting some new songs rehearsed and spent a lot of time mixing tracks before we release them. No official date yet but once we are happy with them we will be getting them live! Next gig is our return to Percy’s in Whitchurch 16th September and it was an amazing gig last time out and looking forward to getting back there!

So until then here’s some proof of how busy we have been at Shabbey Road……
